PNF 3B

PNF 3B:

Instead of one  PNF 4 course, participants may take a second PNF3 course with a different instructor. This second PNF3 course will be called PNF3B.

A PNF3B course must be taken with a different IPNFA instructor than the participant’s first PNF3 course.

PNF 3B objectives are the same as a PNF3 course, however the testing (if its mandatory, please see Course rules below) is the same as a PNF 4 course: Written and practical test. Minimum score of each test must be 66%.

PNF 3B Course Description:  See PNF 3

Participants: Licensed Physical Therapists, Licensed Occupational Therapists

Prerequisites: Successful completion of PNF 1+2, PNF3 (or 3 month Vallejo program)

Clothing: Please wear appropriate lab clothing and shoes

Hours of Attendance: minimum of 37 hours

Course Rules:

  1. A PNF3B course must be taken with a different IPNFA instructor than the participant’s first PNF3 course
  2. The minimum time period between PNF 3 and PNF 3B is 3 months, meaning that participants cannot take PNF 3B until 3 months after completion of PNF.
  3. A written and practical test after PNF 3 and PNF 4 is voluntary and is no longer a requirement to progress from PNF 3A to PNF 4A/B or PNF 3B. However, to receive a recommendation for PNF 5, a written and practical test, along with a patient demonstration, remains mandatory. Please note that in some countries, national rules or recommendations may require the examination to be obligatory or recommended. Be sure to verify this with the national IPNFA® organization or instructor providing the course. In this case, PNF 3B includes both written and practical tests, and both must be passed with a minimum score of 66% to complete the course.
  4. The participant may not miss more than 4 hours of the course. If participants miss more than

4 hours, they cannot receive a course certificate

Recommended reading: Please check with each individual course organizer to determine if the IPNFA instructor has a reading list

Note:  When you take a second PNF 3 course (as a PNF3B), kindly inform the IPNFA instructor so that they can plan the testing procedures appropriately.
